Nigerian Afropop sensation BNXN has released his highly anticipated sophomore album titled Captain, and it has already made a powerful impact.
Just 24 hours after its release on July 3, 2025, the album debuted at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, solidifying BNXN’s place as one of the most influential voices in contemporary African music.
The 16-track album features collaborations with top-tier acts including Rema, Seyi Vibez, Victony, FOLA, and the Soweto Gospel Choir. Captain reflects BNXN’s growth and artistic evolution, offering listeners a blend of Afrobeats, soul, gospel, and introspective storytelling. The album also made it to the top five charts in countries like Gambia, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, signaling strong regional influence across West Africa.
Lyrically, BNXN opens up about his personal journey, touching on fame, pressure, and purpose. Tracks like Phenomena, Very Soon, and Fi Kan We Kan stand out for their depth and replay value, while Cutesy and Cough Syrup explore experimental sounds that still remain rooted in his signature vibe.
