Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid tribute to his late friend, Olugbemiga Abiodun, also known as DJ Olu, who passed away seven years ago.
On Monday, Davido shared a throwback photo of himself with DJ Olu on his Instagram story, captioning it with a heartfelt “Billi 4ever.”
DJ Olu, who was Davido’s official disc jockey during his lifetime, tragically passed away at the age of 25 alongside his friend Chime Amaechi on October 7, 2017. They were both found unresponsive in a BMW vehicle.
In DJ Olu’s honor, his family launched the Gbemiga Abiodun Memorial Education Support Programme. According to reports from PUNCH, the programme awarded a total of N91,050,000 to 1,000 students across primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions in Ogun State during its second edition held on Monday.
