Ifebunso Kingsley Ndubuisi, professionally known as Clido, is a Nigerian musician born on December 6 in Benin City, Nigeria.
Raised in the vibrant neighbourhood of Ikpoba Hill, Clido’s upbringing was deeply rooted in his Christian faith and enriched by his family’s religious background.
Educationally, Clido’s journey took him through various institutions, including Our Lady of Mercy, Brother Pius, and Our Lady of Apostles for primary schooling. St. Paul Minor Seminary, Immaculate Conception College (ICC), Holy Child, and Holy Ghost Academy, all in Anambra State for secondary education, then furthered his studies at Madonna University.
His diverse educational experiences contributed significantly to his musical journey, allowing him to connect with people and expand his fan base. Particularly in ICC during his JSS2, Clido’s interest in music was sparked by his senior brother’s rap prowess and his admiration for Jesse Jagz’s debut album, ‘Jag of all Tradez.’
Despite facing initial challenges and admitted setbacks, Clido persisted in his musical endeavours, gradually honing his craft and finding his unique style. His dedication resulted in the release of his first professional single, “BADMAN,” featuring D’blaze during his 300 level in university.
Clido’s musical catalogues span multiple genres, with a particular affinity for hip-hop and highlife. His distinctive sound, characterized by authenticity and originality, has garnered attention and praise within the Nigerian music scene.
Collaborations have played a significant role in Clido’s career, with standout tracks like “ERUJEJE” featuring Odumodublvk and “COMOT MY FACE” featuring Odumodublvck and Dr. Barz showcasing his versatility and creative energy.
Despite not receiving physical awards, the superstar considers the love and support from his fans as his dear achievement. His suspension from university at his 400 level due to his musical pursuits also allowed him a valuable period for self-reflection and artistic growth.
Driven by spiritual inspiration and occasional indulgence in alcohol, he channels his emotions and experiences into his music, creating songs with diverse messages that resonate with his audience.
Beyond music, Clido enjoys cooking, watching movies, and pursuing financial stability, guided by his father’s advice: “There is no romance without finance.”
Looking forward, he engineers his preparation to release new music, including his upcoming single “SLOPPY SLOPPY” and collaborations with EEZZ, Kidda x, and Dy/Dx.
