Nigerian-born Afropop artiste MODIH has officially released his debut extended play, MODIH-FIED Vol. 1, a six-track project now streaming across all platforms.

More than just a debut, the EP represents MODIH’s long-awaited comeback, following a two-year break from music during which he redefined his sound, identity, and artistic vision.

Known previously as Meeky, MODIH built a reputation for raw energy and lyrical grit before stepping away from the spotlight. During this period of absence, he made the decision to pause, reflect, and rebuild.

The result of that process is a new chapter in his career, not just in name but in depth of artistry. MODIH-FIED Vol. 1 embodies this transformation, carrying forward his resilience, his Lagos roots, and his commitment to presenting his truth through music.

The EP delivers six distinct tracks: Groove, No Place Like Lagos, ILYD (I Love Yansh Die), Bad Boy From Nigeria, 2AM, and Midlife Crisis.

Each record carries its own personality, offering listeners a mix of rhythm, reflection, and vibrant storytelling. All tracks were written by MODIH, with 2AM co-written by Gostav. Production duties were handled by Shi Boi on the first four tracks and Ebvbe on the final two, while the artwork and design were curated by Jeje gfx. Together, the collaborators helped shape a project that is both polished and personal.

In the days leading up to the release, he hosted an intimate listening party in Lagos with friends, family, and industry peers, including pop artiste TClassic. The gathering provided an exclusive preview of the EP and sparked conversations about his evolution and artistry. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and support, with guests praising both the honesty and energy of the music. Their positive reviews created early momentum and affirmed MODIH’s readiness to reintroduce himself to the wider audience.

Speaking on the project, MODIH shared: “This EP is my rebirth as an artist. I poured my story, my dreams, and my struggles into these songs. The listening party reminded me that music connects us in the most powerful way, and I am proud to share this with the world.”

The EP captures a balance of moods and themes. No Place Like Lagos paints a vivid picture of the city’s chaos and resilience, Midlife Crisis explores vulnerability and survival, while Groove and ILYD provide moments of lightheartedness and celebration. The duality across the tracks highlights his versatility, making the project accessible to diverse audiences while staying true to his personal journey.

For MODIH, this debut is not only a collection of songs but also a declaration of identity. It marks his evolution from an emerging act finding his voice to an artiste stepping confidently into the spotlight with a clear message and direction.
