Afrobeats artist Fireboy DML graces the cover of Office Magazine’s June edition, showcasing his unique style with a G-SHOCK watch. In the feature, Fireboy reflects on his artistic journey and the life-changing experiences that have shaped his music.
“For our June cover story, Fireboy DML is going back to the basics,” Office Magazine shared on their Instagram page. Fireboy himself elaborates, “The truth is, I work better when I have a story to tell and a vision to pursue. It’s easier. I don’t just get in the booth and randomly say, ‘oh, I want to make an album.’ Something has to happen, a life-changing experience or a switch, and that’s what really happened towards the end of last year.”
He continues, “I learned a lot about what’s really important. I lost friends: I lost a friend to death, I lost a friend to life. So right now I’m all about going back to the basics, back to the roots, focusing on my family and the things that really matter to me, because if those things are not in good condition, then your success doesn’t really matter.”
